See the recovery flow

Below is a simulation you can click through, followed by an unedited recording of the real extension. The simulation runs entirely inside this page; reloading the page clears it.

Try the recovery flow

Interactive simulation. The real extension needs to be installed and allowed on the site.

Contact support

Read the steps as text
  1. Write. You type a long support message on a site where Form Rescue is enabled. About a second after you pause, the extension saves it in your browser and shows “Saved locally”.
  2. Interruption. The page refreshes (or the tab closes, or you are signed out). The form comes back empty.
  3. Review. From the Form Rescue toolbar button you choose “Review drafts”. An extension-owned page shows the saved text and asks which fields to restore, noting that restoring makes the text available to the website.
  4. Restored. You press “Restore selected fields” and your text is back in the form. Nothing is restored automatically.

The real extension, recorded

Recorded with the development build on a synthetic test page (no real data). The test build is pre-approved for the local test site, so the browser's own permission prompt doesn't appear; in normal use your browser asks before the first save on a site.

Recording transcript

A synthetic “Contact support” page is open. The Form Rescue popup shows “Not enabled”; the user enables protection for the site. They type a support message; the popup reports “Saved locally”. The page is refreshed and the field is empty. The popup shows one saved draft; the user opens Review drafts, reviews the saved text beside the empty field, and restores it. The text is back in the form.
